Interfaith Gathering on Palestine in St John’s Parish Hall
THE BELFAST JESUIT CENTRE IS PLEASED TO SUPPORT THIS INTERFAITH GATHERING ON PALESTINE IN ST JOHN’S PARISH HALL FALLS ROAD, BELFAST, AND INVITES YOU TO JOIN US
Date: Friday 28th November at
Time: 7:00 PM
Venue: St John’s Parish Hall, Fall’s Road Belfast
Open to people of all faiths and none, this gathering will be dedicated to reflection, prayer, and conversation on the situation in Palestine.
The evening will bring together speakers from Christian, Muslim, and Jewish communities to share perspectives on equality, peace, justice, and hope for the Holy Land.
For all three faith traditions, Palestine is a sacred land with profound spiritual meaning.
During the gathering, we will pray for a just and lasting peace, grounded in equality and dignity for all.
We will also listen to reflections on the profound suffering being endured by the Palestinian people in the face of the current genocide, and explore how communities of faith can stand together in compassion, solidarity, and a shared longing for justice.
As part of this broader reflection, we will also explore whether some Belfast parishes and churches might feel called to develop a twinning link with Christ the Redeemer Church in Taybeh, a Christian village in the West Bank. The parish priest there, Fr Bashar Fawadleh, will share a short video message to help us begin this conversation.
